TRÄNEN
Im Januar 2023 machte ein mysteriöses Instagram-Profil die Runde. Kurz darauf ging eine Strecke analoger Fotos online – statt Personen zeigte sie Synthesizer, Gitarrenhälse und einen frostig-dystopischen Sonnenuntergang. Ein paar Wochen später endlich, wenn auch verwaschen: Gesichter. In einer Konstellation, die wohl niemand erwartet hätte. TRÄNEN sind auf der einen Seite Gwen Dolyn, die seit 2020 mit Punk-Attitüde den deutschsprachigen Progressive-Pop-Untergrund aufmischt und längst zum Postergirl der "NNDW" avanciert ist. Auf der anderen Seite Steffen Israel, Gitarrist der Chemnitzer Band Kraftklub. Nachdem man eigentlich zuerst nur ein Cover des Deutschpunk-Klassikers Duell der Letzten von Chaos Z gemeinsam umsetzen wollte, fand man sich schnell in einer eigenen Sound-Ästhetik, getragen von sinistrer New-Wave-Aura, klangschönen Pop-Passagen, nachhallenden Vocals, 80-esken Synthieflächen mit dominanten Gitarrenläufen zusammen. Am Ende einer etwa einjährigen kreativen Reise stand zuletzt mit Haare eines Hundes ein komplettes TRÄNEN-Album. Das bindende Element im Feuerwerk: Gwen Dolyns Stimme. Und, na klar, diese unverwechselbaren Texte voll nahbarer Bedrücktheit und findigem Gedankenspiel, die mal an Wir sind Helden, mal an Hans-A-Plast und mal an Ideal erinnern – "liebt ihr mich mehr, wenn Randale nur ein Wort ist für Kapitulation?"
